Workshop on technology accessibility to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

The DPI World Assembly in collaboration with the Global Initiative for Inclusive ICTs (G3ict) will host the “Building Human Capital: Realizing SDGs for Persons with Disabilities” workshop next April 11, 2016 in New Delhi, India. The main purpose of the event is to promote inclusive and accessible technology for persons with disabilities in order to protect their rights and support governments to achieve the 2030 SDG United Nations goals.

The workshop, mostly related to ICTs, SDGs and Accessibility, focuses on SDG 8 on full productive employment and decent work for all by targeting the needs of inclusive technologies for ensuring equal access to the labor market for persons with disabilities and SDG 17 on collaboration by promoting equitable technology access among different regions and individuals.

The event will be divided in two parts:

Session 1: Capacity Building and Training on Article 9 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and beyond

Session 2: Public Procurement as a policy strategy for Digital Inclusion and Human Rights
