Best in the Business PTS accessibility competition

The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) has started accepting submissions for its 13th accessible innovation competition with the topic “Best in the business”. The purpose of the contest is to promote the production of innovative, appealing and accessible websites for businesses and organizations with a potential prize of 1.7 Swedish crowns per project.

Participant web designs should be easy to use for everyone, but particularly for persons with disabilities. The competition aims to locate projects that follow guidelines that enable Design for All. Deadline for submissions is on June 15 and selected projects will be invited to present their submissions to panels of experts from the public, private and civil sectors. This will be followed by a pilot phase and then the winners will be announced in December 2016. Each project will include the support of a PTS tutor that will help the team throughout the process.

According to Catarina Wretman, Deputy Director General at PTS, “With this competition, we want to show that you can get better results by focusing on the users and their multi-faceted needs when you design new solutions or websites… we have great opportunities for finding smart solutions that meet individual needs,”
