The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) from United Arab Emirates organized its second Summer Innovation Camp with the purpose of promoting a culture of entrepreneurism and urge youths to innovate with their ideas through more than 24 activities. The curriculum of the camp mostly included technical and IT knowledge, but also combined it with creativity, sports and soft skills. Students learned about mobile technologies, information security and safe use of devices as well as social media, among other things.
The summer camp, that took place between July 17 and August 18, received a record attendance with over 2,000 students. This amount represents a 62% increase in participation from the first camp in 2015. It is as well relevant to mention that during this second event, a special emphasis was made on inviting girls to get engaged in the learning activities offered by the camp.
