Intergenerational technology training for senior adults in Querétaro, Mexico
Querétaro’s Institute of Security and Social Services for Government Workers (ISSSTE) launched a Digital Inclusion program to support senior and retired Mexican citizens. The main objective of the initiative is to provide the elderly with computing and social networking skills to perform daily tasks.
The training will take place with the support of young instructors in order to strengthen the bond between different generations. The state’s government will invite students from Querétaro’s Autonomous University and Technological Institute to accomplish their mandatory social service requirements as computing instructors for groups of 80 senior adults. It is expected that the program reaches at least 400 adults each month.
