Hackathon Genera to promote Digital Inclusion for seniors in Uruguay

Last September 24, Hackathon “Genera” in Uruguay gathered a group of young developers, designers, UX experts, managers, entrepreneurs and retired adults to promote digital inclusion of senior individuals. Through the diversity of the group, the Hackathon attempted to promote intergenerational collaboration and lead up to efficient technical solutions for the elderly.

The participation in the event consisted in 10 intergenerational and multidisciplinary groups that presented different technical solutions. By the end of the day each team presented its project to a specialized jury and the winner teams obtained support to develop their prototypes.
