Train-the-trainer workshops will facilitate knowledge sharing in Angola

In order to prepare for next Africa Code Week scheduled to take place in December, the software company SAP will host a series of “train-the-trainer” workshops to provide ICT skills to parents, teachers and educators to in Angola. This type of workshops is intended to prepare instructors to become experts in coding so that they can later on share the knowledge with their communities.

The train-the-trainer workshops will take place in Luanda and will be open to everyone. Participants will receive 90 minutes of coding training through MIT Scratch software, a USB with notes and a training certificate upon completion. The long term goal is to prepare more than 200,000 teachers in coding thus reaching around five million children and youth over the next ten years.

Some of the main partners that will make the training sessions possible in Angola are Cod Cod Codet, the Ministry of Education in Angola, American Embassy, French Embassy, Vivre en Angola community, among others.
