Guanajuato’s government provides digital devices to students and professors

The government of Guanajuato Mexican state provided computers to professors from the national syndicate of workers in order to train them to teach digital skills in their classrooms. Until now, the state has provided 50 thousand tablets and 19,360 computers to professors and students within the region. It is expected that by next year every high and mid-level education student receives as well devices to work with.

The main purpose of the campaign is to target the digital divide within the region through the establishment of ICT infrastructure, handling devices and providing tech training. However, the impact of the program is yet to be seen and will depend strongly on how these technologies are incorporated into the classroom dynamics.
