New application in India allows persons with neuromotor disabilities to access websites and social media

Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur designed an application that supports persons with neuro-motor disabilities to access browse through web contents, utilize social media and play games. This software can be accessed from mobile phones as well as 5 and 7 inch tablets.

The application adapts social media and web interfaces, reorganizing them in accessible formats that can be controlled with the support of assistive devices such as access switches. This software is part of a series of technological tools that are being developed by the group to empower children with motor and vision disabilities in their educational environments.
