Funding and support for Spanish youth to boost the Digital Economy
Spain´s Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Strategy launched a program to boost the Digital Economy through the training and employment of youth. With a gross investment of $20 million euros, the objective of the program is to satisfy the demand of employers for high skilled workers with relevant digital skills.
The initiative will both promote entrepreneurship and the consolidation of new business models and increase the work opportunities of unemployed youth. Economic support will be provided through the European Social Fund as part of the Youth Employment Operative Program within the framework of Spain´s Digital Strategy. Grants for organizations dedicated to support digital youth employment will range from $100,000 to $2 million euros.
The plan establishes that at least 30% of the participating youth must be immediately brought into the ICT labor market for at least six months after the training.
