Microsoft national digital skills training to booster UK’s digital economy
Microsoft announced the launch of a National Skills Program to promote digital skills for youth in the UK. This multi-year strategy will include daily digital literacy content and additional basic cloud technology skills for the population. It is intended to provide youth with better job opportunities and to enhance UK services in the public sector.
The initiative will additionally include a Cloud Skills Initiative to train 500,000 people in the UK in advanced cloud technology skills by 2020. At least 30,000 public servants will receive this training that is expected to boost the digital economy in the next few years, including ensuring that women and minority groups are engaged in the training and supported in digital apprenticeships.
