Thailand 4.0 to train 3 million government officials in digital skills
The government of Thailand will launch an initiative in June to promote the conformation of the digital economy and society by 2021. The main goal of this Thailand 4.0 is to boost digital literacy and ICT skills among government officials and state agencies to provide efficient services and access for citizens across different platforms.
The government will create the training curriculum in collaboration with the Office of the Civil Service Commission, and the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute will set standards for digital skills for different job descriptions. At least 100,000 officials will participate in the training by the end of the year and 3 million by the end of the program. According to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, “State officials with digital skills will be the key factor to help the government achieve success in its digital transformation.”
