Government program fosters digital inclusion in Argentinian communities

The government of San Miguel de Tucumán community in Argentina launched a program called “La Casita de la Ciudad en mi Barrio” (in English The Little City House in my Neighborhood) to provide inhabitants from the suburbs with diverse technology tools. These “little houses” are ICT Training Centers integrated in community hubs and other public spaces to teach digital skills and enable access to technology devices.

The infrastructure to provide the training comes from a public private partnership with telecommunications firm Telecom, which has provided 60 computers to distribute among six ICT hubs. It is expected that learning how to use these tools will enable local population to enhance their labor opportunities.
