Digital literacy and high tech infrastructure to boost ICT jobs in Scotland

New Digital Strategy in Scotland is focused on boosting digital jobs through enhancing current technology infrastructure and the skills of the population. It is expected that the effort will encourage the creation of 150,000 ICT jobs during the next for years thus leading to economic growth and more efficient public services.

One of the main tactics included in the strategy is the plan for a new Digital Schools program and increased funding for local digital inclusion projects. According to Derek Mackay, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Constitution, “There is a huge opportunity here and now to ensure that people, businesses and organizations across Scotland, are given the tools and skills they need to harness this potential.”
