Digital Literacy high school to open in Manchester

A new government-sponsored high school specialized in digital literacy will be open within the next two years in Manchester to enhance the digital skills in the region. The school will target children aged 11-16 and will combine traditional education with technology skills to fulfill the current local demand for high-tech workers.

The creation of this institution will be possible through the collaboration between UKFast local cloud hosting provider and The Dean Trust. UKFast is also currently providing curricular support, teacher training, work placements, technical workshops and Code Club sessions as part of this partnership.

Ultimately, the new high school will sum up to the efforts of UK’s government to enhance the digital skills of the population in order to boost the digital economy.
