New online community development program teaches digital skills to youth in Ireland
Three organizations created a new online community development program for youth in Limerick, Ireland. The partnership involving Limerick Youth Service, An Cosan Virtual Community College and Three Ireland will start teaching its online curriculum in May 2017, providing young adults with digital literacy, social action and leadership skills.
The course will combine digital skills with interactive content to introduce youth to strategies for supporting digital citizenship. According to Liz Waters, director of An Cosan Virtual Community College, the partners believe that technology and virtual learning are the best ways to break down barriers to make education accessible. The course will be fully funded by the participant organizations.
