Super Care program to empower persons with hearing disabilities in Ghana
Vodafone Ghana launched Super Care customer service line to address the needs of persons with hearing disabilities. This new service, launched to comply with recent government’s digital inclusion project, is intended to provide equal access to telecommunications services for a broader audience.
Super Care initiative will provide registered members of the Ghana National Association for the Deaf and their close relatives with plans that include high amounts of data and SMS at low prices to enable the use of video services and text for communication. Additionally, a specialized customer center with trained agents will be established to communicate with persons with hearing impairments when the code *949# is dialed.
According to Ms. Yolanda Cuba, Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, the program will be fully backed up by the government thus enabling persons with hearing disabilities to become more independent and stop relying on family and friends to access technology services.
