ICT education plan to enforce digital literacy New Zealand’s schools

The education minister of New Zealand announced a plan to equip schools to teach digital literacy and provide training for students to learn how to handle emerging technologies. The main purpose of the initiative is to enhance New Zealand’s digital skills to adapt for the digital economy.

According to Nikki Kaye, the education minister, the plan will include an investment of 40 million USD to provide training for youth. According to Dr. Michelle Dickinson, Code Club member, this program will enable New Zealand to catch up with the increase in digital skills currently taking place in Europe.
