Innovation Camp teaches ICT skills for youth in United Arab Emirates

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of United Arab Emirates organized an Innovation Camp for youth to learn ICT skills from July 9 to August 10, 2017. The event is meant to provide students with knowledge of tools for their future and to encourage them to further explore technology professions.

The Innovation Camp targets youth aged 6-17 years old throughout the country and sponsors transportation for participants. Around 24 different activities are organized including smart city related projects, safe use of technology and social networking, design and arts, creativity and industry of the future, building positive skills, volunteering and community service, among others.

In the words of H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, “Through organizing this camp, the TRA seeks to promote and disseminate the culture of innovation in the ICT field among the UAE’s young generation, to instill the seeds of knowledge and to encourage them to excel and innovate, as part of the efforts to build and prepare the UAE youth talents.”
