Cinema for all invites persons with disabilities in Colombia to the movies

The Ministry of ICTs (MinTIC) of Colombia organizes the program “Cine Para Todos” (Cinema for all) to provide persons with visual and haring disabilities with access to ICT entertainment. This free service allows beneficiaries to attend popular Cinema projections with the company of one person.

The program is currently taking place in 12 different cities all over Colombia. It is coordinated with the support of local government offices and takes place in some of the main commercial areas of each city. The movies are adapted with audio description technology, special captions and sign language translation. So far, 67,000 people have attended to these events to watch 72 movies.

The program uses assistive technologies to make cinema accessible for everyone.
