First Rural Digital Center in Peddashapur village, India

Nasscom Foundation and Arcesium private companies established the first rural digital literacy center in Peddashapur village, in Telengana, India. The center will provide people from the region with access to computers and mobile phones in order to show them how to use online government services, send emails and browse the internet.

The center has infrastructure to train up to 1,000 beneficiaries from under-served communities around the area. It counts with a predetermined curriculum of 20 hours (2 hours per day) that walks beneficiaries into the main activities they require to leverage the potential of ICTs for everyday chores. A special emphasis is placed on training youth.

This rural digital center will sum up to the current 170 centers that have been already established in the national level.
