IT Kids Innovation Theater to train children for future ICT entrepreneurship in Oman
The second IT Kids Innovation Theater (IT KIT) summer program that took place between July and August 2017 received more than 100 registrations and 40 kids from different regions of Oman. The program provided kids with training in both technical and non-technical skills to encourage them to become future ICT entrepreneurs.
The curriculum included a broad range of topics that went from digital media contents (such as animation and film production) to robotics, entrepreneurship, security and analytical problem-solving. A special session under the name DG Girls was organized to connect girls with women in ICT role models.
Participants were guided to use their IT knowledge and ideas to create real services or products. In the end, the children displayed their projects at an exhibition where ICT authorities, private organizations and parents assisted.
