Digital Inclusion Charter coordinates community efforts to drive digital inclusion in Wales
Digital Communities Wales announced that its Digital Inclusion Charter to promote basic digital skills for everyone has been signed by 250 organizations. Through their signatures, these groups pledged to provide all their staff and volunteers with opportunities to learn digital skills, share best practice tips and build local partnerships in their area.
The program coordinates different local organizations to actively support vulnerable population to access digital skills. It is mostly focused on targeting the needs of seniors, persons with disabilities, unemployed people and underserved communities.
The program is supported by the national government; however, it seeks for the support of civil and private groups. Some of the participant organizations are GoCompare, BT Wales, Welsh Water, 12 local authorities, housing associations, national charities and regional support organizations.
