Namibia invites youth to learn about empowerment through ICTs

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Erongo, Namibia, gathered 35 youth from Swakopmund community to learn about the opportunities offered by ICT adoption. The event was meant to empower youth to benefit from technology and raise awareness within the community.

During the session, the ministry invited different stakeholders from the local ICT sector to share their stories and explain different ways in which technology can be used to make life easier. Some of the topics covered include e-banking, online marketing, cybersecurity and other business applications. Participants were also instructed on how to search for online employment through www.namibiaatwork.com

Presenters included Telecom Namibia; International University of Management; Ministry of Labor, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation; Namibian Police Force; Institute of Technology Sciences; Swakopmund Municipality; and Standard Bank.
