Great achievements for Hour of Code in 2017!
Hour of Code is a global initiative that consists in providing a user-friendly introduction to computer science through different activities and tutorials to broaden digital literacy worldwide. The campaign is currently supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators in over 45 languages.
Last December 2017, the event was celebrated during the Computer Science Education Week reaching millions of students worldwide through 154,134 events. According to the latest report for 2017, United States, Italy, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Romania and Malaysia were the most active countries based on the number of events, most of which took place in schools.
More than 37.8 million Hours of Code took place in 2017 showing significant growth rates in countries such as Malaysia, Armenia, The Bahamas, Mongolia and Qatar.
