One Digital launches Community Practice to share best digital skills training practices

One Digital is a collaborative digital skills program from United Kingdom that was developed by SCVO, Age UK, Citizens Online, Digital Unite and Clarion Futures in 2015. The program mainly consists in sharing digital skills and training trusted intermediaries called Digital Champions to promote the creation of a sustainable model for digital inclusion.

In a period of two years, the program has recruited and trained more than 1,100 digital champions that have shared their knowledge with more than 11,000 people. It has helped beneficiaries to use technology devices such as computers and smartphones, and to perform common online tasks such as applying for jobs, contacting family members or managing personal finances.

During the new phase of One Digital, a new program was recently launched called Community of Practice, which will provide participating organizations with “a new forum to share learning and experiences” according to Sarah Cant, One Digital Program Director.
