Connected Women released digital training modules for women in The Philippines

Connected Women Jobs signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Communications and Technology of The Philippines to provide women with access to a platform for digital skills training. The contents of the courses were generated by Facebook as part of a broader campaign known as #SheMeansBusiness and will be available through Tech4ED e-learning platform.

#SheMeansBusiness Philippines program has trained more than 400 women through six workshops in different cities. Now the program will increase its reach out and diversify its contents adding training related to work in editorial, design, administration, finance, coding and marketing automation. The main purpose of the platform is to support workforce that is not able to find jobs because of parenting or other caregiving responsibilities.

According to Clair Deevy, Director of Community Affairs, Facebook APAC, “Women entrepreneurs still face specific, persistent barriers—from cultural to legal, financial to self-confidence—to start and grow their business.” The platform is intended to support them to leverage technology tools that empower them to face these challenges.
