Orange Botswana launches second Women Digital Center in Molepolole village

Orange Botswana opened its second Women Digital Center in Molepolole village to promote digital inclusion for women and girls in remote regions. The technology hub is intended to provide women from the area with access to digital resources, better education and vocational training thus enabling them to leverage ICTs to improve their living conditions.

The training offered at the second Women Digital Center will empower participants through access to management skills and basic software tools. At least 100 women from the village are expected to take part in the training, which will take place with the support of other local partner organizations. According to Boga Chilinde-Masebu, Orange’s spokeperson, “This technology will bring women into contact with the broader world, opening up access to education and vocational training in a very cost-effective way.”
