Destiny Trust Nigeria launched a pilot project to equip 500 children from underserved areas with access to digital skills training and infrastructure. This will be possible by leveraging the creation of a coding and innovation development center at Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.

The Kids Innovation Hub intends to support youth and children with low economic backgrounds to learn computer programming skills that can help them improve their opportunities for future employment. The center will implement Lagos State’s Coding Education Framework and sign up as a Cisco Academy Center to provide participants with the option of obtaining industry certificates and validate their skills.

Other organizations are also supporting this initiative, including CodeLagos, Gamaliel & Susan Onosode Foundation, Flying Doctors Nigeria and Ming the Gap. Destiny Trust invites other stakeholders to join the effort to reach the goal for its initial phase.
