The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) of Philippines released an announcement highlighting two digital inclusion trainings launched amid the National Information and Communications (NICT) Month 2018. The two courses were named “Women and Mobile: Bridging the Gender Gap” and “Children and Mobile Technology.” The digital skills courses were organized with the collaboration of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity and GSMA.

As explained by the official announcement, technology innovation in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Machine Learning are currently supporting governments to make more informed decisions. However, in this context it is necessary to promulgate policies that facilitate the use of ICTs for those who are in vulnerable conditions.
