Kigali Technology Campus will train and employ up to 500 Rwandan developers in 5 years
Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Development Board partnered with software development firm Andela, to train and employ up to 500 Rwandan developers in the next 5 years. The public-private team will collaborate to establish a pan-African tech hub in Kigali, which will be open to candidates from across Africa beginning in August 2018.
The Kigali Technology Campus is expected to strengthen Kigali’s tech industry by promoting the adoption of high level skills that satisfy the demand of the industry. Additionally, it will support recent policies of the Ministry of Youth and ICT talent policy, which dictate that all employees in civil service and workers at government-owned companies must undergo training and certification with globally accepted digital literacy providers.
