Canada Learning Code received a donation to build a computer science curriculum for children in Canada

Canada Learning Code, a charity focused on promoting digital literacy education nationally received a donation worth $525,000 USD from Amazon to improve computer science education for children up to the 12th grade. The donation will be used to train 275,000 children over three years in different technology skills required to prosper in the digital economy.

Given that currently only three out of 13 provinces and territories in Canada offer formal opportunities in their curriculum for children to learn computing science skills, this program is expected to prepare more children to use technology from an early age. This is only possible thanks to the collaboration between multiple partners across industry, academia, private and public sectors across the different provinces.
