Digital skills training in Nigeria to benefit 10,000 beneficiaries in Edo State
Nigeria’s Federal Government announced that the Social Investment Programme (SIP) has supported over 3,000 beneficiaries with digital and entrepreneurial skills training. This initiative, which is implemented in partnership with Google Digital Skills for Africa, intends to train participants to improve their employment opportunities so that they can become competitive in the digital economy.
As explained by Miss Osayuwamen Aladeshelu from the Edo State Social Investment Programme, the current focus of the training is on the seven local government areas of Edo State South Senatorial District. However, populations from the central and northern districts will also receive training in the future. It is expected that the programme will increase the digital skills of at least 10,000 beneficiaries.
