“Generación Digital Senior” is a programme launched by Movistar to promote digital inclusion for seniors in Peru. The initiative is expected to benefit more than 350 seniors during its pilot phase, through training related to financial education, human rights, emergency services, transportation applications, access to media, and entertainment resources.

This initiative coordinates collaboration between multiple organizations, such as the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, the Ministry of Health, the Municipality of Miraflores, the National Bank, and some private companies. According to Alvaro Valdez Fernandez-Baca, Director of Institutional Relations, Communications, and Corporate Sustainability for Telefonica Peru, “Even though most people don’t realize it, seniors have a high potential to learn about technology.”
