The “Digital Education Bus” programme – launched by Fundación Telefónica Peru – received an “Entrepreneurial Creativity” award for providing access to digital skills training to more than 180,000 children and teachers from approximately 300 schools. The bus has been active in several regions, including Áncash, Ica (Pisco), Junín (Mazamari), Lambayeque, Lima, Puno and Tacna.

Students and teachers who visit the Digital Education Bus can access laptops containing the VillaPlanet educational application. The app takes children on a journey across different planets to solve multiple critical thinking challenges. Once the bus leaves, students can continue to use the application in their homes or schools, given that it can be installed and used even on devices that cannot access the Internet. Teachers receive further training to support the students when using the app.
