Singapore’s Smart Nation and Digital Government Office (SNDGO) has announced that 600 volunteers have enlisted as Smart Nation Ambassadors since the initiative was launched in February 2019.

Individuals can sign up at Volunteer.SG to volunteer at Smart Nation events to help older persons and others acquire useful digital skills, such as connecting to the Internet, downloading useful mobile applications, and using online banking.

Speaking during the inaugural Digital Inclusion Festival, organized by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) from 26 to 28 July 2019, Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan (who is the Minister-in-charge of the Smart Nation Initiative) highlighted the role and contributions of Smart Nation Ambassadors in helping society get digitally ready.
