ICT Awards for Women in South Africa
Black Information Technology Forum Kwazulu Natal, recently hosted its annual awards for women in ICT. The ceremony, on 9 November in Durban City Hall, aims to encourage women, particularly black women, in the IT sector in the country by acknowledging their excellence and contributions to the field.
The organization awarded prizes in the following categories: ” woman in ICT pioneer award, woman in ICT excellence award, woman in ICT entrepreneurship award, woman in ICT innovation award, woman in ICT community developer award, woman in ICT Graduate Award, Woman in ICT intern award, and woman in ICT extraordinary student award.”
Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology Hlengiwe Mkhize, councilor Diana Hoorzuk, and Vodacom representative Palesa Phili spoke at the event.
Kwazulu Natal hosted these awards with support from a variety of partners including EOH-Enterprise, IT Applications, and Technology and Outsourcing.
