Code 4 Impact learning program to train 50 Nigerian girls in ICT

Code 4 Impact is a digital learning program organized by the Hacey Health Initiative with the support of the United States Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria, Access Bank and the Tech4Dev Foundation. It consists in teaching female students (18-30 years old) coding and analytical skills to generate technology solutions that support their communities to address the problems presented by the Sustainability Development Goals.

The 50 girls selected from a total of 1,518 applicants, will be organized in 10 groups that will work together throughout the course, focused on software engineering skills and entrepreneurship, to collaborate in assignments and projects. Every group will also have access to direct supervision from tutors and mentor developers.

During a period of 12 weeks, participants will attend the University of Lagos to learn how to create mobile apps, games and utilize microelectronics. It is expected that the knowledge acquired will promote empowerment of women and the communities in which they live by developing innovative IT solutions to their challenges.
