New Digital Literacy Program in Garissa County, Kenya
The Public Service and Youth Affairs department launched a new Digital Literacy Program in Garissa county, Kenya. In addition to providing both teachers and children with ICT training that could spread through their communities, the program intends to create employment opportunities for digital content developers.
The announcement of the program took place at Jaribu Primary School, the last primary school from the region to receive free laptops to prepare for the new digital curriculum. According to Lilian Omollo, Public Service and Youth Affairs Principal Secretary, “Digitized learning would enable students compete favorably for professional and business opportunities both locally and abroad.”
