Davao City in Philippines approves resolution to provide basic digital skills in public high schools
The Davao City council in Philippines approved a resolution promoting the enhancement of basic digital skills and internet access in public schools through compulsory digital literacy courses. The local government will enact this initiative with the support of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone company and its Infoteach Outreach Program.
The program includes a training curriculum that is focused on teaching high school students how to utilize productivity tools for better work and study results. It provides guidelines both for teachers and students in selected schools, as well as senior citizens and out-of-school youths.
