Women ICT and entrepreneurship training to take place in Pakistan

The ICT training, National ICT R&D Fund in Pakistan launched a call for proposals inviting local firms to suggest strategies for developing a two-week customized program to provide technology and business education to women entrepreneurs in major cities. This initiative seeks to empower women to better utilize ICTs for increasing the productivity of their businesses through a comprehensive curriculum that includes the ideation process, accessing suppliers, developing and advertising products, accessing the market and building ICT capacity.

The projects were received on March 6 and the next step is the evaluation of proposals based on their potential to generate an impact on women entrepreneurs. A selected committee will be in charge of assigning a detailed technical score to each project, and ultimately select the organization that will be in charge of developing the training curriculum.

The women entrepreneurship program will be implemented in all the provinces of Pakistan and more than 500 women are expected to participate. It is meant to strengthen local and international networks to support women entrepreneurs succeed.
