Massive Open Online Course from Spanish university explores the role of ICTs to enhance the lives of seniors and persons with disabilities
“Disabilities and Active Aging” (Discapacidad y envejecimiento activo in its original Spanish version) is a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) related to the the use of accessible ICTs to make the lives of everyone better. The 12 weeks course from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid provides guidance for leveraging accessible technologies that are inclusive for seniors and persons with disabilities.
The course curriculum contains lectures relating to experiences and examples of how persons with disabilities utilize ICTs to become more independent, study and perform daily activities. Professors from different universities and experts with disabilities collaborate in the MOOC, which is composed by 11 modules over 60 estimated hours of work.
Participants in the course may exchange ideas through a public forum and engage in direct communication with the main instructors and collaborators.
