#eSkills4Girls Africa targets digital divide through public-private collaboration
A group of female tech leaders shared their experiences during last #eSkills4Girls Africa Meetup in the beginning of May 2017, held before Transform Africa Summit in Kigali, Rwanda. The main purpose of the event was to share experiences and knowledge with a group of entrepreneurs, activists and mentors involved in initiatives related to providing girls with digital skills to participate in the digital world.
The event was organized by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), SAP, UNESCO and GIZ. It took place within the framework of the G20 meetings to discuss solutions to overcome the gender digital divide and generate employment opportunities for girl and women in developing countries.
As part of the event, SAP and BMZ signed an agreement to promote tech entrepreneurship in developing countries through public-private collaboration to take place under the BMZ’s Make-IT initiative.
