Aldea Digital Iztapalapa to provide Mexicans with digital skills training and access to the latest technologies
Every year, Telmex, Telcel and Carlos Slim Foundation organize an event called Aldea Digital, attended by more than 400,000 Mexicans to improve their digital skills and gain access to new technologies. However, during the last week of 2017, the organizations launched a permanent Aldea Digital hub in Iztalapalapa, an undeserved area in Mexico City, to provide continuous training and assistance to the population.
Aldea Digital IztapalapaCDMX is located in an 865 squared/meters building, where more than 122 different workshops will take place regularly for people interested in improving their digital skills. The hub will be open 7 days a week and will provide free access to all visitors. Additionally, it counts with the potential to provide 10,000 people with connectivity at the same time.
Some of the topics that will be covered during the workshops taking place at the Aldea Digital are basic computing training, programming, robotics, 3D printing and the use of ICTs for growing small and medium businesses, among others.
