Digitalization of the workplace drives ICT skills training for employees
An article by CBR Online explained some of the challenges faced by organizations to train their employees with digital skills. As explained by the author, digitalization of the workplace needs to be aligned with strategies for transformation and training that focus on the business objectives in order to make the adoption of technology tools more efficient.
This challenge is currently driving several private organizations to collaborate with governments in improving digital skills not only for youth to become competitive in the workplace, but also for maintaining the productivity of the current workforce. In this context, synergies between public and private sector become not only possible, but necessary in order to increase the levels of digital inclusion and wealth worldwide.
An example of this transformation, was the announcement in May 2018 of OCBC, a Singaporean bank, to train 29,000 employees globally with digital skills in four different levels. The training was designed to teach participants not only how to use technology, but also on how to adapt to emerging technologies.
