Meet the finalists of UK’s Tech4Good Awards 2018 in the Digital Skills category
The finalists for UK’s AbilityNet Tech4Good Awards 2018 annual competition were announced. This event evaluates projects that leverage digital technology to improve people’s lives. The four projects competing for the Digital Skills Award are:
- CodeYourFuture is a free 6-month program to train refugees to become entry-level developers. It intends to boost refugee integration by providing them with skills to become employable.
- Generation Code intends to prepare youth aged 11-19 years old to become creative and develop computational thinking skills that introduce them to technology since early ages.
- Nominet Digital Neighborhood matches youth from underserved areas aged 18-24 with relevant digital skills and small or medium organizations that are trying to boost their digital capabilities.
- Stretchlab collaborates with The Mustard Tree homeless charity to encourage dispossessed people without access to technology, to make a digital story and equip them with digital skills in the process.
