Media Trust and Google UK launched a new training program to provide local charities and community organizations with digital skills training and resources to improve their performance leveraging technological tools. The program is based on the findings of the recent Charity Digital Skills Report, which highlights that more than 70% of UK charities lack of digital skills and resources to reach their target audience.

Through digital skills and tools, organizations will be taught how to amplify their message and better communicate with people across the region. Beneficent regions will include Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester, Leicester and Liverpool. Half-day masterclasses will run from September 2018 to June 2019 and will be free for charities or community organizations to attend.

During the sessions, participants will study a range of topics including for example social media strategies and digital marketing plans. Media Trust will also develop their digital resources hub, to provide charity professionals with access to online training resources so that they can continue their learning beyond the training sessions.
