International conference to boost digital inclusion and tech education in Egypt
Last July 29-31, the Egyptian ministries of education and technical education, communications and information technology, and higher education and research, collaborated with UK’s Brains Innovation Summits Company to organize Egypt’s MENA Innovation 2018 conference. During the event, Egypt and the UK reinstated their interest in creating technology jobs for talented Egyptians and supporting technology education.
The conference was organized with the objective of promoting improvements in education and digital inclusion. It brought together 22 government ministers from close to 30 countries from the Middle East and North African region, as well as Sub-Saharan Africa. Among other announcements, President Sisi announced that the national government would establish a group of “Schools of Applied Technology” to offer technical trainings for students in collaboration with the private sector.
The event is yet another example of collaboration between governments and private sector to promote digital inclusion aimed towards boosting economic development.
