Microsoft Philippines, ATRIEV Computer Training Center for the Blind, and Ateneo De Manila University’s Education Department created the Digital Training Literacy Manual for persons with visual disabilities. The training manual consists of a detailed guide to support digital skills trainers who work with persons with disabilities.

The manual itself was developed by trainers with visual impairments. According to ATRIEV’s Chief of Operations Carol C. Catacutan, persons with visual disabilities would normally take up to 40 days to learn typical Microsoft digital literacy modules. The guide is intended to decrease the time required to learn how to use these technologies.

According to Carol, “Technology is really the great equalizer for the visually impaired. It is now possible to read what could not be read before, through technology.”
