Reading Makchixx organized a digital literacy outreach programme in Pahang, Malaysia

A group of STEM lecturers from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Malaysia Pahang that goes by the name “Reading Makchixx” organized a digital literacy outreach programme to boost digital literacy in local communities from Kuala Pahang. The program consisted of interacting with preschool children and teachers to introduce digital technologies, create awareness, and describe career opportunities for digitally literate persons.

Throughout 2018, 345 preschool children and 30 teachers from 7 different schools benefited from the program. The kids were divided in 3 groups that would go through 3 modules: computer, telephone, and television. Each module addressed related technological advancements and their ethical implications.
