Report suggests tips for promoting effective use of technology in US schools

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) released a guide to help United States administrations distribute funds from Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants. The report presents a series of recommendations and example use cases. One of the three pillars of the report is effective use of technology.

The report suggests two main recommendations for integrating technology and education:

  • Support professional development among teachers through different resources such as workshops, online training and certification programmes.
  • Blended learning strategies, which entails the combination of digital learning with supervised learning time and student-led learning.

Additionally, the report suggests funding digital citizenship courses and digital tools to enable communication between schools and families.
